One of the biggest motivators for many in my profession is the knowledge that we can, through our actions, contribute to making society more just. Through our initiatives, we may help to redress the balance for certain individuals. Through the opportunities provided by our companies, we can help those who have not had every advantage in life to reach their potential. Certainly, this is one of the things that makes me most excited about working for a company genuinely committed, from the outset, to empowering people.
On-the-job, mentoring training program offered to employees who have no formal training but have proved themselves through experience within the company.
Investing in people in this way is a huge boost for confidence and motivation. It increases the will to continue to develop oneself. Mentoring techniques help both mentor and mentee to develop important meta-skills.
Helping our leaders to improve their meta-skills is another way to create the kind of inclusive environment we believe in. With the « Empathetic Leadership » program, we help managers to improve their self and social awareness.
Supporting and encouraging employees to believe in their potential, and helping them to foster a growth mindset, is one of many meta-cognitive strategies that we will be employing to give people new opportunities.
